Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre

Archive Internship

Archive Internship

Archivists and Archive Student

The Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre welcomes interest from qualified archivists and archive students in their final year of study, for a 2 to 4 week archive internship.

The minimum period of time for a field placement is 2 weeks. Archive interns will need to fully fund all their travel, accommodation and meals costs.

Archivists will be work on the GALCAC digital archive system and will be mentored and supervised by GALCAC linguists through the internship. The digital archive system and hard copy archives contain material specific to the Goldfields region and in particular to languages. There are many photographs and material of historical significance. This is an opportunity to make a difference with a regional archive.

GALCAC welcomes interest from universities interested in establishing field placements for archive students or assistance with thesis topics for Masters and PhD students.

For further information and to register your interest in undertaking a short-term archive internship, phone the Senior Linguist on (08) 9021 3788 or email info@wangka.com.au
