Days until the Gathering

More Than a Gathering

The Goldfields-Esperance Aboriginal Women’s Gathering 2027 is more than a three-day event. It is an opportunity for Aboriginal women, and allies, from across our region to come together, share knowledge, strengthen connections and explore the systems and decisions shaping our communities.

Through inspiring keynote addresses, thought-provoking panels, interactive workshops and women-led conversations, GEAWG27 will create opportunities to learn from one another and help shape a stronger regional future.

This is more than a conversation. It is about what we build together.

01 | EXPLORE

GEAWG27 Program

When Aboriginal women are equipped with knowledge about the systems shaping their lives, supported to recognise and exercise their authority, and given the space and resources to determine collective priorities, they are better positioned to influence decisions, strengthen regional leadership and create pathways for the next generation.

Day 1 | 6 April 2027

Understanding Systems

Seeing the Bigger Picture

An opportunity to explore how systems operate, where decisions are made, whose interests are represented, and where opportunities for influence exist.

Powerful voices, big ideas and practical information.

Through inspiring keynotes, thought-provoking panels, interactive workshops and shared conversations, Day One will unpack how systems work, who influences them and where opportunities for change exist.

Day 2 | 7 April 2027

Setting direction

Growing What We Know

Hear from other women leading change across different sectors, explore approaches that have worked, test ideas, and consider what could be adapted to their own communities.

Through inspiring keynotes, engaging panels, interactive workshops and shared conversations, Day Two will explore how women can influence decisions, strengthen regional leadership and turn knowledge into meaningful action.

Day 3 | April 8 2027

Event 1 | Day 3

HONOURING OUR VOICES, HONOURING OUR FUTURE

Exclusively for Aboriginal women, this is where women can interpret what they’ve heard, identify their regional, community and other priorities, and determine what collective action, leadership and investment should follow.

Building on the knowledge and conversations of the previous two days, women will explore shared regional priorities, opportunities for collective action and the foundations for ongoing leadership, advocacy and change.

There will be three concurrent facilitated sessions lead by women and supported by specialist Aboriginal consultants.

Event 2 | Day 3

BEYOND THE GATHERING | STAKEHOLDER FORUM

Open to Aboriginal community controlled organisation (ACCO), Not-for-Profit (NFP), Government and Industry delegates.

Gathering delegates are invited to take part in a separate, professionally facilitated session focused on reflection, responsibility and action.

Building on the knowledge, perspectives and conversations shared throughout the first two days, this forum will provide an opportunity for representatives from government, industry, community organisations and the broader sector to examine the systems they operate within, question existing approaches and consider what meaningful change requires of them.

Event 3 | Day 3

GEAWG27 Gala Dinner

Join us for a memorable evening celebrating the strength, leadership, culture and achievements of Aboriginal women across the Goldfields-Esperance region.

As part of the Goldfields-Esperance Aboriginal Women’s Gathering 2027, our Gala Dinner will bring together women, community leaders, guests and supporters for an evening of connection, celebration and entertainment.

Guests will enjoy a beautifully prepared three-course dinner, captivating traditional dance performances, and a special performance by a nationally acclaimed artist, before dancing the night away with our DJ. Professional photography will capture the evening’s special moments, while a selection of alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase throughout the night.

The Dinner is an opportunity to honour the women who have paved the way, celebrate those making a difference today, and recognise the generations of Aboriginal women who will shape our future. An evening of culture, connection, celebration and unforgettable memories.
