Value of Cultural Tourism in the Goldfields WA

The Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre in partnership with Curtin University, have released a report on the value of First Nations cultural tourism in the Goldfields region of Western Australia, The Value of Cultural Tourism in the Goldfields 2025.

The research undertaken for the report indicates that over $6.3 million worth of cultural tourism interest is generated each year, however only $541,000 is actually spent due to the lack of cultural tourism events and places. Only 8.5% of the demand is being met.

  • Expand the implementation of the Master Apprentice Language Learning Program;
  • Seeking long term funding for the financial sustainability of the language revival process;
