The 2025 ‘Language Sovereignty: Reclaim the Rights‘ conference has now been launched!

GALCAC runs an Aboriginal language conference every second year. You are invited to attend the 4th biennial conference run by this grassroots, Goldfields language centre.

The Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre’s 2025 Aboriginal languages conference will run between 21-23 October 2025, in Kalgoorlie. Registration forms are here.
 
 
People who speak a language, organisations involved with language,  work on languages, in language programs, language centres, native title bodies, education programs, or who are interested in the language field, are invited to attend.
 
Announcing the fabulous 3 keynote speakers:
 
1. Professor Peter Austin who is an emeritus professor and linguistic language specialist, will talk on language rejuvenation as an act of reclaiming sovereign rights.
 
2. Thomas Mayo – author and signatory of the Ulruru Statement will present on language sovereignty. Author of many books.
 
3. Peter-Lucas Jones – author of a Maori language app will present on the establishment of a product based on linguistic sovereign rights and principles.
 
A wide range of talks, papers, workshops and book launches will be held during the conference.
