Martu Wangka is a language spoken in the Pilbara region and a significant number of speakers live in the communities of Jigalong, Parnngurr, Punmu, Purntawari, Newman and Nullagine.
This dictionary contains words that are not spoken by present language speakers, as the words are taboo. This taboo is due to the word being the name of, or sounding like the name of, someone who has passed away.
