Mara Wangka – Hand Language

Mara Wangka is widely used across the Goldfields region. It can be different between nations. Some Mara Wangka are the same and fairly universal across a wide number of nations.

Mara Wangka is used for a many reasons – for easy of conversation, privacy, over distance, politeness etc.

Mara Wangka is a full language with a grammar which is quite different to spoken language. There are signs for particular items and when strung together, is a fully fluent language.
