GALCAC Strategic Plan 2022- 2032

GALCAC Strategic Priorities 2022-32

GALCAC 2022-2032 Organisational Strategic Plan

GALCAC is the peak body for First Nation’s languages of the Goldfields region of Western Australia.

GALCAC’s first strategic plan ran from 2011 to 2022 and established the language centre and directed the urgent linguistic work on the Goldfield’s languages.

The second decade-long GALCAC strategic plan coincides with the United Nations General Assembly’s  ‘International Decade of Indigenous Languages 2022-2032’.

The GALCAC plan draws attention to the critical status of many Goldfields First Nation’s languages and the plan for their use, preservation, revitalisation and promotion. Key features of the GALCAC Strategic Plan are the prioritising of First Nations linguistic sovereignty, data rights and linguistic rights.

The GALCAC Strategic operational Plan is based on First Nations Acts of Determination, academic rigour, and linguistic protocols.
